We were happy to attend the Rooting DC Forum for the second year in a row! This was the 9th annual forum hosted by DC Greens – Rooting DC is an all-day gardening forum that aims to provide education about urban food production and consumption, to cultivate health and preserve the environment. The program includes dozens of interactive workshops, cooking and food preservation demonstrations, and panel discussions focusing on youth gardening, nutrition, sustainable growing techniques, and healthy food access.
DC Fair Food hosted an information table at the entrance of the forum where we connected with participants, talked about our local food justice work and recruited enthusiastic foodies to attend the CIW’s Worker Voice Tour. We had a great time connecting with our local food justice community and look forward to attending again next year!
